The Wadsworth Homestead is perfect for your dream wedding with its pastoral views of ancient oaks, flowering meadows, and grazing horses. Effortlessly classic, the house and grounds are filled with enchanting spaces perfect for creating uniquely memorable photos - the library with its hand-carved embellishments, the grand cantilevered staircase, or the pillared west veranda overlooking the Genesee Valley are just a few examples of what you will find here.

Whether your event is a boutique wedding or a large formal event (we can accommodate up to 250), the Homestead is a classically romantic venue that allows for an unforgettable yet care-free experience. You will feel at home here and your guests will certainly feel welcome (and a little bit in awe too, of course!).

02. THE HOUSE & GROUNDS

The first floor of this 1804 country manor home includes an elegant dining room, 2 drawing rooms, a large hall with a grand staircase, an ornate library, and 6 fireplaces. A circular flow to the rooms makes this a wonderful house for parties and social events. To the west, a large porch overlooking the Genesee Valley runs the entire length of the house and is ideal for cocktails and spectacular sunsets. The second-floor rooms have been stylishly renovated and are available for overnight stays for up to 12 guests. The Master suite, consisting of 3 elegant rooms, a full bath, and a queen-size bed is ideal for the bride and attendants getting ready on the wedding day. Your overnight guests can choose from 3 full bedrooms, 1 queen, and 1 twin room all with scenic views and sumptuous bedding. There are 4 ½ baths on the second floor.

Wedding packages are all-inclusive, there are no surprises here! We pride ourselves on giving you all the information you need to make an informed decision for a carefree event.  

Only 30 minutes from Rochester NY, the Wadsworth Homestead is situated at the south end of Geneseo's Historic Landmark Main Street. Although it is within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and SUNY Geneseo, it sits a world apart on 300 acres of pristine land.

03. Venue Fee Inclusions

When you book the Wadsworth Homestead, we want to make it as simple as possible for you to achieve the day of your dreams without having to rent a whole lot of extras. Included at the Wadsworth Homestead in your Venue Fee:

• Exclusive use of the grounds during your event: North lawn, West lawn, Wildflower Meadow, Fern Court, pool, & gardens

• Two site visits for planning

• Online tool for floor plan management & table assignments

• On sight coordinator for planning sessions and to manage the "day of" schedule and vendors

• 1-hour wedding ceremony rehearsal

• On-site Wedding ceremony including our standard chairs, set up, rustic arbor, and sound system 

• Ample and close parking for 150 cars

• 60’ x 100’ classic pole tent (seats up to 250) with hard surface and clear panel sides with bistro lights - overlooking oval pool and gardens

• 60” round tables and white padded chairs

• Table and chairs set up in advance to agreed upon floor plan

• Tablecloths and linens (standard options)

• All flatware, plates, and glassware (standard provided)

• 6 restrooms (ADA compliant)

• Permanent full cocktail bar

• Parquet dance floor 18’ x 21’

• Firepit with wood (staff with facilitating lighting fires)

• Fans or heaters if needed

• Staffed electric cart for transportation of guests needing assistance

04. Wedding Packages

Before booking, please note the following for all wedding packages:

• A non-refundable deposit of $2,000 is required to hold your date

• Shuttle service is available from area hotels at an additional cost

• All venue packages are subject to sales and use tax of 8%, accommodations are subject to 3% room tax

• The Village noise ordinance requires that the music end at 11:00 pm

05. catering

Of course, the food and drink are as important to you as the venue. To assure a high level of excellence in this regard, we have a dedicated catering team. Jeff and Lisa Bleier of the Caledonia Village Inn in Caledonia NY will prepare all food served on-site. They have worked seamlessly with our staff for over 70 weddings and we are confident they will deliver excellence every time. Jeff and Lisa are attentive to their clients, exceptionally creative, and highly professional. With this excellent team, you can be sure your guests will enjoy everything about their experience on your wedding day.
